I recently stumbled across a video on a BoingBoing post and then again in a Gizmodo post and did not believe it, so I decided to try it and I proved it wrong. The original video (see video below) shows a guy trying to light a candle with a taser. I own a few tasers and as an electrical engineer that has accidentally set a few to many things on fire I knew this video could be proven wrong.
Which also happened to show up on Gizmodo and BoingBoing.
I decided to get out my taser and try this for myself. I was correct with enough effort it is definitely possible to ignite a candle using only a taser. Check out my video:
As you can see, while it is not easy it is definitely possible to light a candle with a taser! Don’t believe everything you see on the internet.
